Johannes Paul Gräßer (D; violin)
Johannes Paul Gräßer plays the violin and has been intensively involved with Yiddish music and culture since 1999. The main focus of his work is the preservation and further development of Yiddish culture. The Yiddish Forward wrote:
"(...) it is a work of art to play Romanian music in such a way that it does not sound 100% Romanian, but also Yiddish... With this recording Johannes Graesser is one of the leading violinists of the Klezmer movement..."
He is the artistic director of the "Jewish-Israeli Culture Days" - the festival of the Jewish Community of Thuringia, founder and director of the "Klezmer Orchestra Erfurt" and the "KlezWeCan" community and active in various ensembles.
Johannes performs and teaches throughout Europe.
