The Yiddish language is the gateway to an almost unimaginably rich, 1000-year old culture that is enjoying an astonishingly creative international renaissance today. Whether you're a newcomer ready to take the first steps, or an experienced Yiddish speaker, we invite you to Yiddish Summer Weimar to study Yiddish. Why Yiddish Summer Weimar? First, because of the expert teaching team that will inspired you and give you individual attention suited to your level. Next, because you will be surrounded by the liveliest Yiddish culture festival in Europe, soaking up its unique atmosphere and creative energy.

Mornings will be dedicated to language instruction, rounded out in the afternoons by walks, talks, picnics, readings, lectures and interviews, special sessions with Instrumental and Song Workshop teachers, and much more. So come study Yiddish at Yiddish Summer Weimar in 2023 and immerse yourself in a language, a culture and a very special community of fellow students, teachers, volunteers and artists from around the world.

For the best learning experience, we recommend that you attend both weeks of the language program. If you are only able to participate in one of the two weeks, you are free to choose between the first or second week. However, if you are completely new to the language and do not yet know the alphabet, for example, you can choose only the first week for the one-week participation.
